The Missoula Butterfly House and Insectarium’s mission is to inspire an appreciation and understanding of insects and their relatives. In late 2023, they realized their long-term dream of opening a tropical butterfly house and insect museum in Missoula, MT. Through exhibits, field trips, and special programs their approach to learning involves hands-on, interactive experiences with some amazing animals – leaving learners of all ages with a deep and lasting impression and a desire to learn more. Their education programs create powerful learning experiences that engage multiple senses, provide tangible and memorable experiences, foster emotional connections, and inspire a sense of responsibility and curiosity about the natural world.

Healthy Acres Healthy Communities Foundation is the non-profit arm of the Missoula County Department of Ecology and Extension, providing philanthropic support for educational programs and resources in the areas of land management, nutrition, invasive species, 4-H, youth and horticulture. The new location provides opportunities to engage more deeply with the community and continue to develop partnerships to help them grow.
