Stockman Bank’s roots run deep. In 1953 Wm. Nefsy purchased controlling interest in the Miles City Bank. His vision was to create a banking organization to serve the needs of the entire community. Particularly important in his vision was the need to serve agricultural producers and local business people. While various trends in the banking industry have come and gone over the years\, Mr. Nefsy always focused on serving the financial needs of these important members of our community. This vision and focus on service continues today\, and recently Stockman Bank was named one of the world’s best banks by Forbes.\n\nIn 1955\, the Opportunity School Foundation opened its doors to educate a handful of Missoula’s children with developmental disabilities. Since then\, the original 7 students has grown to over 700 adults with disabilities\, our rented classroom has been replaced with a 30\,000 square-foot headquarters\, and our programs have evolved to provide a holistic approach to enhancing lives. We’ve been serving Western Montana for over 60 years\, always focused on our mission of:\n“Supporting Persons with Disabilities in Enhancing Their Way of Life.”
