MISSOULA MIDTOWN ASSOCIATION MISSION

The Missoula Midtown Association is a non-profit organization dedicated to the promotion, enhancement, and accessibility of the midtown area as it relates to businesses, residents and the community. Its goals are to provide resources and information related to the success and growth of a healthy business community and to enhance the quality of life and quality of place for visitors and residents alike.

Meet The Board

Mark Bellon has worked as a Civil Engineer with Territorial-Landworks, Inc. since 1994. He is a principal owner of the company and was instrumental in the development of the 50-person firm with offices in Missoula, Billings and Sidney, Montana. His currently fulfills the roles of Chief Operating Officer, Senior Project Engineer, and company President. He studied business
at the University of Montana before transferring to Montana State University and obtaining a degree in Civil Engineering.

Mark brings us his leadership experience and structured management style. He has an
understanding of land use planning, civil engineering, and infrastructure development for the long term benefit of the community. He enjoys meeting new people and working on projects that benefit the public. He also likes to play as hard as he works and considers it a blessing to live and work in Montana. Mark is married with one child and enjoys outdoor recreation with emphasis on hiking, hunting, and fishing.

Baiba is a graduate of the University of Montana and Leadership Missoula. She and her husband, Steve, have been married for 44 years and have three children (Erin, Nathan & Jon), four grandsons aged 20 months, 6, 9, 12 years (Sean, Gavin, Kellan, Jonah) and one granddaughter Hadley who is 17 months old. She is a Certified Public Accountant, Certified Fraud Examiner and a Certified Specialist in Retirement Planning. She was the past Treasurer for the Missoula Food Bank and was previously chair of the Montana Society of Certified Public Accountants Federal Taxation Committee. Her hobbies include traveling, reading, gardening, horseback riding and of course, cheering on the Griz!
Eric lives, shops and recreates in the Midtown area, while supporting transit projects and planning through his work at the Missoula Urban Transportation District. Half of Mountain Line’s twelve routes traverse the Midtown area, connecting it to the rest of Missoula. MUTD’s second-busiest transfer hub sits in the heart of Midtown at Southgate Mall, so Eric understands that intelligent growth of Midtown inherently relates to effective public transit.

Upcoming projects for MUTD include moving high-frequency, fixed route service onto Brooks Street, a corridor-type of transit service shown to be the backbone of business growth and pedestrian-friendly design for neighborhoods. He previously served for two years as initial chair of the Fairgrounds Advisory Committee.

Tara is a Partner and the VP of Client Services for Mettle Strategic Marketing Solutions, a results based marketing consulting firm in Missoula. She has spent the last eleven and a half years working in media sales and management and has a deep understanding of media, with emphasis in print and digital media. She has been actively involved in the Missoula business community through the Chamber of Commerce, the Missoula Organization of Realtors and the Missoula Building Industry Association. Tara is a graduate of Montana State University with an emphasis on Management and Marketing. She is a Montana girl through and through and can be found outdoors with her husband and young son camping, rafting, hiking and snowshoeing.
Julissa Bencia-Hensel has worked in the staffing industry for over 12 years. She currently is a Workforce Consultant at the Missoula Job Service. She specializes in resume/cover letter critiques, mock interviews, consulting with employers/job seekers, provides labor market information, offers 1-on-1 career consulting and presents employment workshops/presentations throughout the Missoula community. She recently acquired the designation of Certified Workforce Specialist through International Association of Workforce Professionals (IAWP).

Julissa grew-up in Missoula and graduated from Montana State University, earning a Bachelor’s Degree in Education and completed Leadership Missoula 29. She has two children, Ellie and Miller.

Tyson Peissig is the General Manager of AlphaGraphics Missoula and a native Missoulian. After 15 years away Tyson returned to Missoula in 2014 to take part in the family business and to engage as a Missoula community member. Tyson is a graduate of Gonzaga University and a certified Senior Professional in Human Resources (SPHR). He is also an accomplished musician having received honors as a member of the Professional Sports Music Association All- Pro NFL drum line in 2013-2014. Tyson and his wife Catie are active hikers, bikers, readers, Zags and Griz fans.
Andy Short is a Land Use Planner, Environmental Health Specialist and the Missoula Branch Manager for Territorial- Landworks, Incorporated (TLI). Andy has a Bachelor of Science Degree from the Stephen F. Austin State University, Nacogdoches, Texas. At TLI, Andy has managed numerous successful projects through Montana regulatory permitting processes. As the Branch Manager of the Missoula office, Andy is responsible for five divisions and twenty-five staff. Andy joined Landworks Consulting & Design in October of 2005, and became an Associate in July 2008. Andy is a Planner and a Registered Sanitarian in the State of Montana. He has worked in the environmental health field since 2002 building his experience with the strong foundations of field and planning effort, commercial, and government work as well. He has a very diverse background in Land Use Planning and his specialty is permitting and designs of onsite sewer and water systems. He is an authorized Contract Subdivision Reviewer for the Montana Department of Environmental Quality. He has vast and relevant hands-on experience with environmental site evaluations and assessing applicable health codes for onsite sewer and water systems. Andy’s experience includes the “cradle to grave” responsibility for many of his projects from their inception, planning, analysis and design to final completion.
Debbie Williams grew up here in beautiful midtown Missoula as a fourth generation Missoulian. She was the owner-operator of her childcare home for 30 years. Debbie is currently president of the Board of Directors for Tremper Shopping Center. She was involved with all the renovations at the Center, preserving the family legacy. She is excited to be part of the revitalization of the Missoula Midtown area. Debbie and her husband, Bill, have three wonderful Griz graduates, Ryan, Russell, and Robyn, along with five fantastic grandchildren.
Tim Winger moved to Missoula in the spring of 2006 to manage and lease a portfolio of properties for Southgate Mall Associates. He has over 27 years of experience in retail property management, leasing, and marketing. He is a founding member of the Missoula Midtown Association, served on the board for Run Wild Missoula and Missoula Marathon for the first 5 years of race, served on the Fair Advisory Board for 3 years. Tim has 5 kids and enjoys attending their activities. His hobbies and interests include running, reading, boxing, soccer, basketball, golf, and music.
